We present an implementation of a Web3 platform that leverages the Groth16 Zero-Knowledge Proof schema to verify the validity of questionnaire results within Smart Contracts. Our approach ensures that the answer key of the questionnaire remains undisclosed throughout the verification process, while ensuring that the evaluation is done fairly. To accomplish this, users respond to a series of questions, and their answers are encoded and securely transmitted to a hidden backend. The backend then performs an evaluation of the user's answers, generating the overall result of the questionnaire. Additionally, it generates a Zero-Knowledge Proof, attesting that the answers were appropriately evaluated against a valid set of constraints. Next, the user submits their result along with the proof to a Smart Contract, which verifies their validity and issues a non-fungible token (NFT) as an attestation of the user's test result. In this research, we implemented the Zero-Knowledge functionality using Circom 2 and deployed the Smart Contract using Solidity, thereby showcasing a practical and secure solution for questionnaire validity verification in the context of Smart Contracts.
We address the problem of parameter estimation for degenerate diffusion processes defined via the solution of Stochastic Differential Equations (SDEs) with diffusion matrix that is not full-rank. For this class of hypo-elliptic diffusions recent works have proposed contrast estimators that are asymptotically normal, provided that the step-size in-between observations $\Delta=\Delta_n$ and their total number $n$ satisfy $n \to \infty$, $n \Delta_n \to \infty$, $\Delta_n \to 0$, and additionally $\Delta_n = o (n^{-1/2})$. This latter restriction places a requirement for a so-called `rapidly increasing experimental design'. In this paper, we overcome this limitation and develop a general contrast estimator satisfying asymptotic normality under the weaker design condition $\Delta_n = o(n^{-1/p})$ for general $p \ge 2$. Such a result has been obtained for elliptic SDEs in the literature, but its derivation in a hypo-elliptic setting is highly non-trivial. We provide numerical results to illustrate the advantages of the developed theory.
We introduce a pipeline to address anatomical inaccuracies in Stable Diffusion generated hand images. The initial step involves constructing a specialized dataset, focusing on hand anomalies, to train our models effectively. A finetuned detection model is pivotal for precise identification of these anomalies, ensuring targeted correction. Body pose estimation aids in understanding hand orientation and positioning, crucial for accurate anomaly correction. The integration of ControlNet and InstructPix2Pix facilitates sophisticated inpainting and pixel-level transformation, respectively. This dual approach allows for high-fidelity image adjustments. This comprehensive approach ensures the generation of images with anatomically accurate hands, closely resembling real-world appearances. Our experimental results demonstrate the pipeline's efficacy in enhancing hand image realism in Stable Diffusion outputs. We provide an online demo at //fixhand.yiqun.io
Current state-of-the-art image generation models such as Latent Diffusion Models (LDMs) have demonstrated the capacity to produce visually striking food-related images. However, these generated images often exhibit an artistic or surreal quality that diverges from the authenticity of real-world food representations. This inadequacy renders them impractical for applications requiring realistic food imagery, such as training models for image-based dietary assessment. To address these limitations, we introduce FoodFusion, a Latent Diffusion model engineered specifically for the faithful synthesis of realistic food images from textual descriptions. The development of the FoodFusion model involves harnessing an extensive array of open-source food datasets, resulting in over 300,000 curated image-caption pairs. Additionally, we propose and employ two distinct data cleaning methodologies to ensure that the resulting image-text pairs maintain both realism and accuracy. The FoodFusion model, thus trained, demonstrates a remarkable ability to generate food images that exhibit a significant improvement in terms of both realism and diversity over the publicly available image generation models. We present Self-Context Adaptation (SeCAt), a self-supervised approach that unlocks few-shot abilities for open-ended classification with small visual language models. Our approach imitates image captions in a self-supervised way based on clustering a large pool of images followed by assigning semantically-unrelated names to clusters. By doing so, we construct a training signal consisting of interleaved sequences of image and pseudocaption pairs and a query image, which we denote as the 'self-context' sequence. Based on this signal the model is trained to produce the right pseudo-caption. We demonstrate the performance and flexibility of SeCAt on several multimodal few-shot datasets, spanning various granularities. By using models with approximately 1B parameters we outperform the few-shot abilities of much larger models, such as Frozen and FROMAGe. SeCAt opens new possibilities for research and applications in open-ended few-shot learning that otherwise requires access to large or proprietary models.
The following is a technical report to test the validity of the proposed Subspace Pyramid Fusion Module (SPFM) to capture multi-scale feature representations, which is more useful for semantic segmentation. In this investigation, we have proposed the Efficient Shuffle Attention Module(ESAM) to reconstruct the skip-connections paths by fusing multi-level global context features. Experimental results on two well-known semantic segmentation datasets, including Camvid and Cityscapes, show the effectiveness of our proposed method.
The convergence of Boltzmann Fokker Planck solution can become arbitrarily slow with iterative procedures like source iteration. This paper derives and investigates a nonlinear diffusion acceleration scheme for the solution of the Boltzmann Fokker Planck equation in slab geometry. This method is a conventional high order low order scheme with a traditional diffusion-plus-drift low-order system. The method, however, differs from the earlier variants as the definition of the low order equation, which is adjusted according to the zeroth and first moments of the Boltzmann Fokker Planck equation. For the problems considered, we observe that the NDA-accelerated solution follows the unaccelerated well and provides roughly an order of magnitude savings in iteration count and runtime compared to source iteration.
We propose a novel Neural Radiance Field (NeRF) representation for non-opaque scenes that allows fast inference by utilizing textured polygons. Despite the high-quality novel view rendering that NeRF provides, a critical limitation is that it relies on volume rendering that can be computationally expensive and does not utilize the advancements in modern graphics hardware. Existing methods for this problem fall short when it comes to modelling volumetric effects as they rely purely on surface rendering. We thus propose to model the scene with polygons, which can then be used to obtain the quadrature points required to model volumetric effects, and also their opacity and colour from the texture. To obtain such polygonal mesh, we train a specialized field whose zero-crossings would correspond to the quadrature points when volume rendering, and perform marching cubes on this field. We then rasterize the polygons and utilize the fragment shaders to obtain the final colour image. Our method allows rendering on various devices and easy integration with existing graphics frameworks while keeping the benefits of volume rendering alive.
This article presents the affordances that Generative Artificial Intelligence can have in disinformation context, one of the major threats to our digitalized society. We present a research framework to generate customized agent-based social networks for disinformation simulations that would enable understanding and evaluation of the phenomena whilst discussing open challenges.
Emotion recognition in conversation (ERC) aims to detect the emotion label for each utterance. Motivated by recent studies which have proven that feeding training examples in a meaningful order rather than considering them randomly can boost the performance of models, we propose an ERC-oriented hybrid curriculum learning framework. Our framework consists of two curricula: (1) conversation-level curriculum (CC); and (2) utterance-level curriculum (UC). In CC, we construct a difficulty measurer based on "emotion shift" frequency within a conversation, then the conversations are scheduled in an "easy to hard" schema according to the difficulty score returned by the difficulty measurer. For UC, it is implemented from an emotion-similarity perspective, which progressively strengthens the model's ability in identifying the confusing emotions. With the proposed model-agnostic hybrid curriculum learning strategy, we observe significant performance boosts over a wide range of existing ERC models and we are able to achieve new state-of-the-art results on four public ERC datasets.
We propose a novel single shot object detection network named Detection with Enriched Semantics (DES). Our motivation is to enrich the semantics of object detection features within a typical deep detector, by a semantic segmentation branch and a global activation module. The segmentation branch is supervised by weak segmentation ground-truth, i.e., no extra annotation is required. In conjunction with that, we employ a global activation module which learns relationship between channels and object classes in a self-supervised manner. Comprehensive experimental results on both PASCAL VOC and MS COCO detection datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. In particular, with a VGG16 based DES, we achieve an mAP of 81.7 on VOC2007 test and an mAP of 32.8 on COCO test-dev with an inference speed of 31.5 milliseconds per image on a Titan Xp GPU. With a lower resolution version, we achieve an mAP of 79.7 on VOC2007 with an inference speed of 13.0 milliseconds per image.
